$2.8M grant could stall Delta’s truck route

While the City of Delta was successful in its quest for grant funding for an alternate truck route, the $2.8 million awarded by the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) falls far short of the $26.5 million needed to complete the project. Read full story

Confluence Drive selected for final stage of DOLA grant process

On the basis of the strength of the City's pre-application, Confluence Drive was selected by Colorado's Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) to proceed to the stage of submitting a full application for consideration of funding under the provisions of Senate Bill 09-232 FML Impact Grants.

Delta voters approve truck route funding

Delta voters gave overwhelming approval to Measure 2A, approving funding for an alternate truck route. Approximately 77 percent of the voters said yes to the measure. The bond repayment will paid from an existing 1 percent sale tax dedicated to capital projects.

The tally was 1,376 in favor and 412 opposed to the measure.

A Safer Downtown, No Tax Increase

The City of Delta is proposing a safer downtown and promising it won't take a tax increase to make it happen. They plan to do this with an alternate route to divert the heavy volume of truck traffic away from town. Read full story

Public Meeting for Final Design

A public meeting for Confluence Drive was held Tuesday April 28, 2009. City staff and project consultants from Stantec Inc. and Parsons Brinckerhoff presented information on the project including project progress, detailed design plans, and a conceptual animation of the proposed design.

Preliminary design plans completed

Check out the new preliminary design plans. After months of work, the City's engineers have released the following drawing showing a more detailed preliminary design of the route. Refinements will be made after the next public meeting which will be held in August. Check back for more details.
